This page contains the firmware images and instructions related to the Snom D7 and D3 USB expansion modules, known as UXM.

The UXM module can be updated via the phone through the web interface or via provisioning.

Expansion module (UXM) update procedure

Manual UXM update via WUI

This procedure describes how to update the expansion module via the web interface.

Requirements

1. At least one D3X5 or D7X5 phone with USB.
   
   
2. At least one UXM you want to update.
   
   
3. You must be able to patch your phone's firmware version to a version >= 8.9.3.68
   
   
4. Access to your phone's web user interface.
   
   
5. A complete http URL to a UXM update file on a server that can be reached by your phone.

How to update a UXM

1. Open up the web user interface of your phone. (Requirement 1 & Requirement 4)
   
   
2. Open up the system information page of your phone: [PHONE-IP]/info.htm
   
   
3. Check that your current firmware version is >=8.9.3.68 and if not update your phones firmware version to a version >= 8.9.3.68 (Requirement 3)
   
   
4. Disconnect all UXM from your phone.
   
   
5. Connect the one UXM (Requirement 2) that you want to update to your phone (Requirement 1) and wait for 10 seconds. Make sure that there are no other UXM connected to the UXM (Requirement 2) you want to update.
   
   
6. Reload the system information page of your phone: http://[PHONE-IP]/info.htm. Confirm that the number in the line for 'USB Expansion Module' is exactly 1 (not 0, 2, 3 or any other number!)
   
   
   
   
7. Make sure that your UXM is NOT connected to an external power supply. If you can see 2 or more cables connected to your UXM it might be connected to an external power supply - please only keep the USB cable to phone connected and disconnect the other cables from your UXM.
   
   
8. Open up the Software update page of your phone: http://[PHONE-IP]/update.htm
   
   
9. Enter the complete http URL to a UXM update file (Requirement 5) into the 'Firmware' input field in the subsection 'Manual Expansion Module Software Update'.
   
   
   
   
10. Press the Load button in the 'Manual Expansion Module Software Update' subsection of the page.
    
    
11. Your phone should now download the file from the server and then display a message that it is preparing a UXM update.
    
    
    
    
12.  After about 25 seconds the message should update and indicate that the UXM update is in progress.
    
    
13. After another 5 to 10 seconds the phone should clear this message.
    
    
14. After another 10 seconds you can confirm the new UXM version info: open the system information page of your phone: http://[PHONE-IP]/info.htm.
    The updated version info should be printed in the line below 'USB Expansion Module'
    
    

After a successful UXM update

The firmware_uxm setting will be set to the http URL from Requirement 5.

UXM update via provisioning

This procedure explains how to update the UXM via provisioning.

Requirements

1. At least one D3X5 or D7X5 phone with USB.
   
   
2. At least one UXM you want to update.
   
   
3. You must be able to patch your phone's (1) firmware version to a version >= 8.9.3.68
   
   
4. A complete http URL to a UXM update file on a server that can be reached by your phone (1).
   
   
5. A complete http URL to a firmware_status.xml file on server that can be reached by your phone (1).
   
   
6. You must be able to provision settings to your phone (1).

Limitations

The UXM update can only be applied via provisioning when:

• there is exactly 1 UXM connected to the phone
• the UXM is not powered via external power supply
• the firmware_uxm setting on the phone is not an exact match for the http URL from Requirement 4
• the update_policy setting is NOT set to never_update or settings_only

How to update a UXM

1. set the firmware_status setting to the http URL from Requirement 5
2. in the firmware_status file on the server add a tag firmware_uxm with the http URL from Requirement 4 as value
3. now you just have to wait for the phone to fetch the firmware_uxm file

After a successful UXM update

The firmware_uxm setting will be set to the http URL from Requirement 4 to prevent the phone from repeatedly downloading the update file and updating the connected UXM.

Manuelles UXM-Update mittels WUI

Diese Vorgehensweise beschreibt, wie Sie das Erweiterungsmodul über die Weboberfläche aktualisieren.

Anforderungen

1. Mindestens ein D3X5 oder D7X5 Telefon mit USB.
   
   
2. Mindestens ein Erweiterungsmodul (UXM-Gerät) (D3/D7), das Sie aktualisieren möchten.
   
   
3. Sie müssen in der Lage sein, die Firmware-Version Ihres Telefons auf eine Version >= 8.9.3.68 zu patchen.
   
   
4. Zugriff auf die Web-Benutzeroberfläche Ihres Telefons.
   
   
5. Eine vollständige http-URL zu einer UXM-Update-Datei auf einem Server, die von Ihrem Telefon aus erreichbar ist

Wie man ein Erweiterungsmodul (UXM) aktualisiert

1. Öffnen Sie die Web-Benutzeroberfläche Ihres Telefons. (Anforderung 1 & Anforderung 4)
   
   
2.  Öffnen Sie die Systeminformationsseite Ihres Telefons: [PHONE-IP]/info.htm
   
   
3. Überprüfen Sie, ob Ihre aktuelle Firmware-Version >=8.9.3.68 ist und aktualisieren Sie diese, mindestens auf eine Version >= 8.9.3.68 (Anforderung 3).
   
   
4. Trennen Sie alle UXM-Geräte von Ihrem Telefon.
   
   
5. Verbinden Sie das eine UXM-Gerät ("Requirement 2"), das Sie aktualisieren möchten, mit Ihrem Telefon (Requirement 1) und warten Sie 10 Sekunden. Stellen Sie sicher, dass kein anderes UXM-Gerät an das UXM-Gerät ("Anforderung 2") angeschlossen ist, das Sie aktualisieren möchten.
   
   
6. Laden Sie die Systeminformationsseite Ihres Telefons neu: http://[PHONE-IP]/info.htm. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass die Nummer in der Zeile für'USB Expansion Module' genau 1 ist (nicht 0, 2, 3 oder eine andere Nummer!).
   
   
   
   
7. Achten Sie darauf, dass Ihr UXM-Gerät NICHT an ein externes Netzteil angeschlossen ist. Wenn Sie 2 oder mehr Kabel sehen, die an Ihr UXM-Gerät angeschlossen sind, kann es an ein externes Netzteil angeschlossen sein - bitte lassen Sie nur das USB-Kabel mit dem Telefon verbunden und trennen Sie die anderen Kabel von Ihrem UXM-Gerät.
   
   
8. Öffnen Sie die Software-Update-Seite Ihres Telefons: http://[PHONE-IP]/update.htm
   
   
9. Geben Sie die vollständige http-URL zu einer UXM-Update-Datei (Anforderung 5) in das Eingabefeld "Firmware" im Unterabschnitt "Manuelles Software-Update des Erweiterungsmoduls" ein.
   
   
   
   
10. Klicken Sie auf die Schaltfläche Laden im Unterabschnitt "Manuelles Software-Update des Erweiterungsmoduls" auf der Seite.
    
    
11. Ihr Handy sollte nun die Datei vom Server herunterladen und dann eine Meldung anzeigen, dass es ein UXM-Update vorbereitet.
    
    
    
    
12.  Nach ca. 25 Sekunden sollte die Meldung aktualisiert werden und anzeigen, dass das UXM-Update läuft.
    
    
13. Nach weiteren 5 bis 10 Sekunden sollte das Telefon diese Meldung löschen.
    
    

14. Nach weiteren 10 Sekunden können Sie die neue UXM-Versionsinfo bestätigen: Öffnen Sie die Systeminformationsseite Ihres Telefons: http://[PHONE-IP]/info.htm.

        Die aktualisierte Versionsinfo sollte in der folgenden Zeile gedruckt werden:"USB Expansion Module".

    

Nach einem erfolgreichen UXM-Update

• Die Einstellung firmware_uxm wird auf die http-URL von Anforderung 5 gesetzt.

UXM-Update über Provisionierung

Diese Vorgehensweise erklärt, wie Sie den UXM über die Bereitstellung aktualisieren können.

Anforderungen

1. Mindestens ein D3X5 oder D7X5 Telefon mit USB.
   
   
2. Mindestens ein UXM-Gerät, das Sie aktualisieren möchten.

Einschränkungen

Das UXM-Update kann nur über Provisioning angewendet werden, wenn:

• es ist genau 1 UXM-Gerät an das Telefon angeschlossen.
• das UXM wird nicht über ein externes Netzteil mit Strom versorgt.
• die firmware_uxm-Einstellung auf dem Telefon stimmt nicht genau mit der http-URL aus Anforderung 4 überein.
• die Einstellung update_policy ist NICHT auf never_update oder settings_only gesetzt.

Wie man einen UXM aktualisiert

1. Setzen der Einstellung firmware_status auf die http-URL aus Anforderung 5
2. in der Datei firmware_status auf dem Server ein Tag firmware_status mit der http-URL aus Anforderung 4 als Wert hinzufügen.
3. jetzt müssen Sie nur noch darauf warten, dass das Telefon die firmware_uxm-Datei holt.

Nach einem erfolgreichen UXM-Update

Die Einstellung firmware_uxm wird auf die http-URL von Anforderung 4 gesetzt, um zu verhindern, dass das Telefon wiederholt die Aktualisierungsdatei herunterlädt und das verbundene UXM aktualisiert.

Sie können die UXM-URL zurücksetzen, indem Sie die HTTP-Anfrage http://[PHONE-IP]/settings.htm?settings=save&firmware_uxm= senden.
