Hello

Looking for advice on the following use-case scenario.

  • Separate offices but within walking distance
  • Need Snom DECT M65 handsets to work in both locations.
  • Continuous RF coverage between both is not required.
  • RF link between two M900 base stations is not possible - seems too far / too many obstacles.

My question is do we have 2 x M900 operating as separate primary stations?

In that case, do we need handsets registered on both base stations and is that even possible?

---

So I have found the following in the M900 PDF and believe we need multi-primaries enabled for our two locations.

However the manual is not that helpful in completing the setup in this way.

I'm unsure now what is meant by "To add the second primary, it must be configured manually as a primary. " Does this mean we need to manually configure the SIP servers for the 2nd primary?

After testing this, the second primary is running in the DECT config tree, but it flashes red as it cannot seemingly achieve a SIP registration.

Note:  To run a system with two separate primaries in two locations, Allow multi primary and Auto configure DECT sync source tree must be enabled.  To add the second primary, it must be configured manually as a primary.   Alternatively, the “Auto create multi primary” must be enabled. After installing the multicell installation, you can switch to manual configuration of the synchronization source tree by disabling the Auto configure DECT sync source tree setting.

    Hello,

If there is no radio connection between the 2 M900 bases, it is worth using them 1-1 as independent bases, which are individually connected to e.g.: PbxACT. In this case, the M65 phones must be registered to both M900 bases.

Second option is to use "LAN Sync" on M900. In this case, the bases synchronize via cable, so there is no need to register the M65 phones on both bases.

Is "LAN Sync" possible between a M700 and a M900 base? We have the same constellation, but with a new M900 and some M700 bases.

I ended up patching the RF link together by putting the base stations in some odd spots. But I will keep the LAN Sync option in mind.

Snom themselves never responded to any emails requesting help, our local reseller we bought them off knows nothing either - so I appreciate your response!

I only work with M900, but the signal can go through a maximum of 3 switches for Lan Sync, and the switches must support the IEEE1588 protocol.
