Good afternoon,

I have a question regarding a SNOM D785 and the USB Headset support. Currently, a Jabra Engage 65 is connected to it via USB, which basically works quite fine. Just one thing is a bit strange: The wireless headset definitely supports HD voice (tested with another phone), but a call with G722 codec is as expected in HD quality on the wired handset of the phone, but limited to 4 kHz audio (standard phone quality) on the USB headset.

Is there a setting to enable HD audio support for USB headsets? Searching the SNOM Service Hub didn't reveal a hint.

The phone runs the latest firmware snomD785-SIP 10.1.119.10, and the Jabra headset has the latest firmware installed, too.

Thank you.

    Hi,

I did not find anything about this limitation, please open a support ticket on helpdesk.snom.com with the necessary logs, so we will forward the question to our internal department.

    Thanks
    Best regards

    Hi,

thank you for the answer. Unfortunately, I have no permission to open tickets.

To reproduce the issue, I created a chirp file starting at 400Hz and increasing to 16kHz (attached as Chirp400-16000.sln16). This can be played using Playback(Chirp400-16000) with Asterisk PBX.
The test calls were conducted using G722 wideband codec. Here are the results:

    • Total duration of the chirp is 15 seconds.
    • Using the phones internal speaker, the chirp silences after 7 seconds (~8kHz). Logfile attached.
    • Using an USB attached speaker (Jabra PHS001U), the chirp silences after 4 seconds (~4kHz). Logfile attached.
    • Using the same USB speaker connected to a PC, the chirp audible to 12kHz.

Seems to be fixed in FW release 10.1.127.10 - thank you!
