Ok, here's what we got.

  • A Snom M300 plus two M25 headsets
  • A Lancom router 1790VA playing the PBX with the current firmware.
  • A Gira TKS-IP-Gateway with the current firmware.

Now when I recently upgraded the firmware of the M300 from 530B2 to 530B7 the base station started crashing completely and reproducible as soon as you answered a call from the door station. The M300's log says afterwards

Unexpected Reboot (50) Firmwareversion 0530.0007 (RESET_CAUSE_HARDWARE_RESET)

Now the odd thing is that this previously worked perfectly fine with the same firmware versions on the Lancom and the TKS-IP-Gateway and 530B2 as the the DECT system's firmware.

So I downgraded the base station and the headsets to 530B2 again. And everything is fine again.

What has changed for the worse in 530B7?

    I am really sorry to hear that, we do not have any other similar reports even if the latest firmware is being installed on M300 base stations around.

    We are not aware or similar limitations on the 530B7 firmware and the best thing we can do is to ask you to raise a ticket, if you have access to our partner helpdesk, or to ask your reseller/distributor to do so for you, so that we can collect all the necessary files to bring this to our developers for a deeper investigation.

    I used to have a partner helpdesk account for the old system but not for the current one. And I don't think that the normal computer parts dealer where I bought this M300 years ago can and will open a ticket for me.

    I'll just file this release then under bad software and hiding the real customer support now from the complaining end user then. I hope the next release is working again.

    Hi,

    If you are a Snom partner please contact your Snom sales representative and they will be able to ask internally to join you to the helpdesk, otherwise we won't be able to.

    I've reported this internally for further investigation but we cannot reproduce and we would need the files to bring this to our developers.

    I noticed the same with our M300. Call rings multiple phones, as soon as you accept the M300 crashes and reboots.

      While I can say that in my case my door station also rings a group containing only the two handsets I can't say that it's the group only that causes the reset.

      i've just upgraded again to 530B7 temporarily again and called the group from another telephone. This does not cause a reset for me.
