Hello,

We have a 3CX setup with 4 dects. On the dects the users have changed the phone language and they have set a custom ringtone for special numbers.

However, the next day the settings are gone/reset, probably cause by the auto-provisioning of 3CX.

Please advise on how to disable this so the phone settings are kept.

  1. Hello,

The way to do this is by creating 3CX customized templates. See the following HowTo from the 3CX:

    https://www.3cx.com/docs/custom-ip-phone-templates/

Isn't there something you can set on the antenna M900 management page?

  3. If you delete the Provisioning Server under Management, then M900 will no longer synchronize its Settings with 3CX.

But you should consider whether you really want this.

What would be the consequences on this?

  5. If you change something in the 3CX console, the M900s bases will not notice the change.  So no settings synchronization between M900s and 3CX.

Does the central phonebook will be provisioned / updated if the server was deleted?

It seems a separate setting in the console: "header central directory"

Also what if the dect phones are deleted from the 3CX console?

    1. If the Directory URL stays there, then it will not be affected!
    2. At the latest when the SIP registration is renewed, the 3CX will inform you that the deleted extension no longer exists.

Seems like my only option is to remove the URL to get this working.

I cannot find anywhere a M900 or M65 template, nor do I know what I need to change in this template.. Are there templates for dects or only for IP phones?

  8. Me too, I did not see any M900 templates on the 3CX console.

Maybe this is hidden somewhere, so I recommend contacting 3CX support about this.

Yes they recommand to contact SNOM :-/

  10. The first question is about finding the snom DECT templates on the 3CX console!

This is certainly a question that 3CX can answer.

If the templates are in place, then I can tell you what settings to change!

    Hi, ok thats good news.

    Here is the template:

    from

    C:\ProgramData\3CX\Instance1\Data\Http\Templates\fxs

    snomM900.fxs.xml

  12. You wrote: they have set a custom ringtone for special numbers.

    Where do they set it?
Regarding the language, you can either delete the two corresponding lines or comment them out in the template:

    <!--########################################################-->
<!--###              Time and Tone Settings              ###-->
    <!--########################################################-->

        <ntp_server>%%param::time_ntp_server%%</ntp_server>
        <ntp_refresh_timer>3600</ntp_refresh_timer>
<!-- Tone Schema, valid options are: AUS,AUT,CHN,DNK,FRA,GER,GBR,IND,ITA,JPN,MEX,NLD,NOR,NZL,ESP,SWE,SWI,USA -->
        <tone_scheme>%%toneset.tone%%</tone_scheme>
        <timezone_by_country_region>off</timezone_by_country_region>
        <timezone>%%timezone%%</timezone>
        <language>%%language%%</language>
        <web_language>%%language%%</web_language>

And for sure you have to follow the general instructions given by 3CX as said before:
    https://www.3cx.com/docs/custom-ip-phone-templates/

They set it in their personal contacts book.

The 3CX guide is useless, I cannot even copy a template. I can however replace the XML file stored in C:\ProgramData\3CX\Instance1\Data\Http\Templates\fxs

  14. AFAIK the local address book is not provisioned by the 3CX.

    >>>The 3CX guide is useless, I cannot even copy a template. I can however replace the XML file stored in C:\ProgramData\3CX\Instance1\Data\Http\Templates\fxs

I first suggest asking 3CX how to customize DECT templates similar to the HowTo above!

Than why the custom ringtones and contacts are gone after a reprovision.

Is it maybe caused by the central address book reprovision??

Thanks for the help today anyway!

  16. >>>Is it maybe caused by the central address book reprovision??

    No, I don't think so.

    You can check this easily:

    Test 1:

    1. delete the settings server URL and set a custom ringtone for a number
    2. reboot the base
    3. check the handset if the ringtone is still there.

    Test 2:

    1. delete the settings server url and phonebook url then set a custom ringtone
    2. reboot the base
    3. check the handset if the ringtone is still there.

    Best regards

  17. Hi, what about each handset having it's own display language?  Some users might fancy English, but others rather use an other language on their DECT handset.
    Can this be achieved somehow?
Because the language set, appears to be a base/provisioning setting.
