Avoid Feedback on the PA1+ with an external Speaker

We want to operate a microphone and a speaker on a PA1+.

The audio signal from the microphone should only reach the connected counterpart. Unfortunately, this is not the case, as the input of the microphone is played back directly through the speaker. If we make the speaker louder, we get strong feedback, which means that our actual goal cannot be achieved with the customer.

Is there a way to avoid the pass-through of the audio signal and thus reduce the chance of feedback?
