Hello,

I got an used A170 I want to use with given D3xx, D7xx phones. Testing with D735.

Headset function is working, but remote pickup/hangup etc. is not (EHS function).

I got a cable the resembles cable B (2x RJ11), but It's much longer. I looks like some replacement - and it's not working.

Is there:

  • a source for the cable as (un)official spare part?
  • specification of pinout to build/modify one myself?

    Our A170 headset comes with different cables inside the box, as in the quick guide

    A part from the power cable and the USB one, there are two other cables you need to connect with a D7xx phone

    One is an RJ9/4P4C cable to connect the phone with the headset's base, on the cable there should be two labels showing "Phone Jack" (both on the headset and phone's side)

    One is an RJ11 cable, reporting "EHS Jack" on the two labels on the cable

    They are roughly the same length as they both go from the headset base to the phone, the only longer cable is the power one (which ends with a power plug of course)

    We don't have any suggestions for a spare part for this cable I am afraid, nor we can provide the specifics to modify the current cable you're using

    I would suggest sending the A170 you bought back, as it's clearly not in original conditions, and always buying our products from an official Snom partner: to know more about a possible Snom partner please contact our sales team Sales
