Release notes for firmware series 750 B200 and  BSV750B201

802.1x is enabled by default and cannot be disabled.

The Base device will perform network authentication using its client certificate. Network-side validation of the Snom SHA2 Snom Certificate Authority certificates is mandatory.

Can SNOM confirm if firmware 750 and later really has  802.1X port authentication on by default?

Is this a mistranslation?

The linked Snom Certificate Authority  page goes on to discuss TLS encryption of HTTP, SIP ie.  https://

Requiring NPS / RADIUS EAP-TLS and a 802.1X managed switch seems like a high barrier to implementation for small businesses deployments using a single M900.

I don't want get locked out and have to climb a ladder.

Will stay on 740 for the time being.
