Hallo

We have a number of D725 with side panels D7 connected.

We recently updated firmware from version 8 to 10.1.152.12.
The D7 side panel running V2.1.1

When we updated to the “new” firmware, there was suddenly an icon first on each contact line on the D7 Side Panel.
See example below

Does anybody know a way to remove this icon, or is it even possible to remove?

The user is complaining that it is making the screen cluttered and difficult to read.

  1. Hello!

There is a Setting you can change:

As shown here: fkey_full_label_mode (Link to snom Wiki) and How to update the Icon of a D7C Function Key - There is also listed the D3 and D7 .

  2. Thank you for your reply.

It did lead me to a somewhat broken solution.

As we are using Snom D725 phones with the D7, the fkey_full_label_mode setting does not work, as I found out it is part of the smart labels system.

It looks like we need to set this up as part of each function key.
Since we are using auto provisioning, I needed to set it up with XML configuration.

This requires us to set the function keys as the following,
    <fkey idx="xx" context="active" icon_type="" reg_label_mode="icon_text" label="Test Horse 1" perm="">blf <sip:600@***********.dk>|8*</fkey>

The red marked text is what we added to the xml string.

This removes the handset symbol on each line on the D7 and only shows text on each line...... Sometimes....
It will not always remove the icon, half the time the D7 shows the icon and the other it is back.
It is also not the same fkeys that shows the icon, it changes around from time to time and the reset and restart of the phone/Sidepanel.

I have no idea what is causing it to act like this
When we export config from the phone, it shows that the fkey is set up correct

fkey_label_mode<0-36>=text is set for all fkeys.
    fkey_icon_type<0-36>= is set to nothing.

Maybe it is a problem with the firmware or something.

We are just going to go with it can't be removed and not waste any more time on it.

Thank you again for your time.
