Introduction

This page describes how to configure a multi line solution (combination of KeyLine and private line) on your M100 KLE. For information about basic KeyLine configuration, refer to How to configure KeyLine on a M100 KLE.

In the following multi line scenario, KeyLine is already configured for Account 1 on all handsets. We will add a private line (Account 2) to a specific handset. The configuration steps are shown below.

Keyline Assignments

In our scenario, KeyLine is already configured for Account 1 on KeyLine number 1-6.

  • On the Web user interface, navigate to SYSTEM → Handset Settings → KeyLine Assignments.

Account Assignments

  1. We will add the private line (Account 2) to Handset 4.

  2. On the Web user interface, navigate to SYSTEM → Handset Settings → Account Assignments.

  3. In the Account 2 column, clear the check boxes for all handsets except Handset 4. This will ensure the privacy of the line. Incoming calls will only ring on Handset 4.

  4. For Handset 4, set the Default to Account 2. This will ensure that when you call a number on Handset 4 without selecting a line, the call will be made from Account 2.

Programmable Keys

For Handset 4, we will set the Line Key 4 to be a dedicated line key for the private line.

  1. On the Web user interface, navigate to SYSTEM → Handset Settings → KeyLine Assignments, and select Handset 4.
  2. For Line Key 4, set Type to LINE and Account to Account 2.
  3. Note that Value becomes greyed out.

With this configuration, when Handset 4 receives a call on the private line (Account 2), it will be indicated by the LED of the LINE 4 key. You can also press LINE 4 on Handset 4 to dial a number on Account 2.

If you keep the default KeyLine configuraiton as shown below, then none of the LINE keys on the phone will be used to indicate a call on the private line (Account 2).
