Introduction

The M100 KLE is preconfigured out of the box to support a basic 4-line KeyLine system for a single SIP account. You only need to register an SIP account on the phone.

On the Web user interface, navigate to SYSTEM → SIP Account Management →  Account 1 and enter the values for User Identifier, Authentication Name, Authentication Password, SIP Server Address, and Registration Server address.

The information below describes how KeyLine is configured on the Web user interface. For information about configuring multiline (combination of KeyLine and private line), refer to How to configure a multi line solution (KeyLine and private line) on a M100 KLE.

KeyLine Assignments

Incoming calls are indexed by KeyLine number. You can assign KeyLine numbers to an account. On the Web user interface, navigate to  SYSTEM → Handset Settings → KeyLine Assignments. KeyLine assignments apply to all handsets and desksets registered to the M100 KLE.

The preconfigured default assigns Keyline 1 to 6 to Account 1. This means the first incoming call on Account 1 is indexed to KeyLine number 1. The second incoming call on Account 1 is indexed to KeyLine number 2. The third incoming call on Account 1 is indexed to KeyLine number 3, etc. The KeyLine number is displayed on the handset/deskset during a call or when displaying calls in the Call List.

You can also configure KeyLine Assignments by changing the values of parameter hs_settings.keyline.y (where y = KeyLine number).

A maximum of six active SIP sessions are supported across all handsets and desksets. In order to take full advantage of six active SIP sessions, set the maximum number of calls to 6.

  • Web user interface: SYSTEM → SIP Account Management →  Account x (where x = account number). →  General Account Settings →  Maximum Number of Calls.
  • Parameter sip_account.x.maximum_call_number (where x = account number).

In the example below, KeyLine 1 to 6 is assigned to Account 1 and KeyLine 7 to 12 is assigned to Account 2.  This means that incoming calls on Account 1 will be indexed to KeyLine 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and incoming calls on Account 2 will be indexed to KeyLine 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12.

Programmable Keys

For each handset or deskset, Line Keys 1 to 4 can be assigned to KeyLine numbers. On the Web user interface, navigate to SYSTEM → Handset Settings → KeyLine Assignments, and select a handset. Line Keys 1 to 4 represent  the LINE 1 to LINE 4 keys on the handset or deskset. For KeyLine configuration, Type is set to KeyLine, and Value is set to the KeyLine number. Note that the Account number is greyed out on this page, because accounts are assigned to KeyLine numbers on the KeyLine Assignments page.

The preconfigured default is Line Key 1 assigned to KeyLine number 1, Line Key 2 assigned to KeyLine number 2, etc. This means a call on KeyLine 1 will be indicated by the LED of the LINE 1 key of the handset/deskset.

You can also configure Line Keys by changing the values of the following parameters (where x = handset number):

hs_settings.x.pfk.line1.feature, hs_settings.x.pfk.line1.value

hs_settings.x.pfk.line2.feature, hs_settings.x.pfk.line2.value

hs_settings.x.pfk.line3.feature, hs_settings.x.pfk.line3.value

hs_settings.x.pfk.line4.feature, hs_settings.x.pfk.line4.value

In the example below, Handset 3 has Line Key 1 to 4 assigned to KeyLine number 7 to 10. This means that for Handset 3, a call on KeyLine 7 will be indicated by the LED of the LINE 1 key. A call on KeyLine 8 will be indicated by the LED of the LINE 2 key, etc.

Account Assignments

You can assign account numbers to handsets, and define the default account for outgoing calls. On the Web user interface, navigate to SYSTEM → Handset Settings → Account Assignments. Each handset is displayed in a row. In the Account 1-8 columns, select the checkbox of the account(s) to be assigned to the handset. in the Default column, select the default account for the handset. The preconfigured default for all handsets is Account 1-8 with default Account 1.

You can also configure Account Assignments by changing the values of parameters hs_settings.x.assigned_account and hs_settings.x.default_account (where x = Handset number).

In the example below, Handsets 1-3 will only receive incoming calls for Account 1, and the default account for dialing out is Account 1. Handsets 4-6 will only receive incoming calls for Account 2, and the default account for dialing out is Account 2.

Handset Name

This is not a KeyLine configuration, but is shown here as a useful way to customize your phone system.

You can define the handset name that is displayed at the top of the idle screen of each handset. On the Web user interface, navigate to SYSTEM → Handset Settings → Handset Name. For each handset, enter the desired handset name.

You can also configure Handset Names by changing the value of parameter hs_settings.x.handset_name (where x = Handset number).
