Hello- We have over 200 D735 phones with 3CX. Very recently 3CX updated the recommended Snom firmware to 10.1.141.10 from the previous recommended version 10.1.84.15. All our D735's presently have 10.1.84.15. I did an upgrade to just two D735's in the system to test 10.1.141.10 before rolling it out to all our D735's. The test seemed successful except that the speakerphone and mute buttons do not light up when activated, although they do work. Could this be a setting in the phone which needs to be changed to be compatible with 10.1.141.10? I rolled back the firmware to the previous 10.1.84.15 and the mute and speakerphone lights worked again. Note: I do not see 10.1.141.10 in the Snom firmware list- is this a special firmware version for 3CX? Thank you

Feb 13, 2023Hello Steve,
you are welcome. Good choice to test it first on a small pilot group of devices. What you experienced is likely a result of a change the the common audio LED behavior, we informed about in:
Release 10.1.137.15 - 10.1.137.15 Release
and
Release 10.1.127.10 - 10.1.127.10 Release
With an Important advice, starts with : "
With enrollment of this firmware release in your specific PBX / phone deployment(s) users may experience one or both of the following changes:
Technical background: New customization ....
Please review all the details and advices provided and explore your 3CX configuration / provisioning files for ways to adapt the recommended changes.
Note: if you can afford to factory reset each of the phones manually (considering Pluy&Play Sip or similar will just auto-reprovision the phones) you can also try that, - best case with a small pilot first.
Thanks and greetings from Berlin,
Jan

Feb 10, 2024Hello Jan, It has been some time since your answer but still have not updated our Snom D735 phones to the 3CX suggested 10.1.141.10. The problem is the same as before, A test update works fine except that the speaker and mute buttons do not light up when accessed. This can be disorienting to our users. I have followed your instructions and looked at led_on and replaced it with the default, as well as the updated values as outlined in the Snom article you linked to. I also tried to add the new values to the default values as well. In all cases the behavior of the updated phone is the same, although the speaker and mute functionality work fine (and the display indicates that) the button LEDs do not turn on. I also updated the values in status_msgs_that_are_blocked and that did not help either. As soon as I downgrade to 10.1.84.15 everything works again. I am concerned that being so far below the 3CX suggested D735 fw version may be troublesome in the future, for example certificates that do not work or similar issues. Appreciate any further tips you can give me to troubleshoot this.

Feb 11, 2024Problem is solved by modifying led_on with default values as you suggested and saving them, but this time I side-loaded the settings file properly and prohibited the phone from immediately updating the file from the 3CX server via the update policy. Now with a good modified settings file in the phone the speaker and mute LED both work properly with 10.1.141.10. Next we will modify the 3CX settings file with the new led_on values so it will happen automatically with auto-provisioning.
