Introduction
The M55/M56 handset and M58 deskset displays icons at the top of the screen to indicate system activity such as firmware updates or configuration changes.

Firmware updates
If you perform an auto or manual upgrade of the handset/deskset firmware, the following icon appears on the handset/deskset screen.
The icon indicates the handset/deskset is receiving the latest firmware upgrade from the base station in the background. When the upgrade is completed, the icon disappears from the handset/deskset screen.
Configuration changes
If you change a setting via the WebUI or provisioning, the following icons are displayed on the handset/deskset screen in the following order.
The icon indicates the phone configuration has changed or updated. The handset/deskset is pending synchronization of the latest configuration in the background.
The icon indicates the handset/deskset is retrieving the configuration file from the base station in the background. When the configuration changes have been completed, the icon disappears from the handset/deskset screen.
Base Directory updates
If you add, edit, or delete entries in the Base Directory via the Web UI (Contacts → Base Directory), the following icon is displayed on all the handsets/desksets.
The  icon indicates the handset/deskset is retrieving the base directory update from the base station in the background. When the update has been completed, the icon disappears from the handset/deskset screen.
Speed Dial updates
If you change the speed dial entries via the Web UI (System→ Device Preferences → Speed dial), the following icon is displayed on all the handsets/desksets.
The icon indicates the handset/deskset is retrieving the speed dial update from the base station in the background. When the update has been completed, the icon disappears from the handset/deskset screen.
Custom Wallpaper updates
If you update custom wallpaper via the Web UI (System → Device Preferences → Custom Wallpaper and Wallpaper & Theme on All Devices), the following icon is displayed on all the handsets/desksets.
The icon indicates the handset/deskset is retrieving the custom wallpaper from the base station in the background. When the update has been completed, the icon disappears from the handset/deskset screen.
