Introduction

Sometimes it becomes necessary to replace the DECT base stations into an existing DECT multicell system, especially when moving a system from the old M700 to the new M900 base stations.

During that process, you will be able to select one or more of the base stations you've removed and aren't active anymore, and to delete them from the system.

Guide

You will find that the operation isn't possible for the RPN00 base in the system, either an Snom M700 or Snom M900: the option is simply greyed out, as you can see in the screenshot below.

This is because the RPN00 is still seen by the system as the "original" base station, which created the system at the beginning.

There is no simple way around this, the only way to do it would be to reset the whole system, so that while re-creating it from scratch a new base will get assigned the ID RPN00.

Resetting the whole system is not something we usually recommend in this case, as it would lead to a long down-time and to manually re-registering all handsets.

The RPN00 still showed in the system will be ignored and won't affect the DECT system in any way.

WARNING

The original base station, showed as the RPN00 in the original system, MUST NEVER be power up again, neither near or far from the operation site.

The system will continue to operate without that base, and we recommend getting rid of the base following the rules applied to electronic waste.
