Introduction

In order to reliably supply larger locations with DECT, a multi-cell is usually set up, comparable to a mobile phone network. To determine the required number and position of the DECT bases (Snom M900), we recommend a professional and detailed on-site survey. We have put together a modular case with all the necessary equipment for this purpose. The included power bank for the Snom M900 and the batteries for the handsets make it possible to operate the Snom M900 completely cordless during the measurement.

For large projects in particular, we recommend that you use at least two bases, preferably three, for illumination and at least two handsets.

You can find out what is included in a "Snom DECT Measuring Kit" in the next section.

Preparation of a DECT Measuring

Have a labeling device ready to mark the base stations and handsets.

  1. Before each use, always charge the powerbank for the Snom M900 and the handsets with the supplied charging cradles.

  2. Remove the Snom M900 backplate and connect the USB-A - Snom M900 connector cable. Make sure the M900 LED lights up.

  3. Connect the Snom M900 backplate to the Snom M900 and fasten the claw grip on the M900.
  4. screw the claw grip to the tripod top. Make sure M900 LED is still on.
  5. Fasten the powerbank tightly to the holder and fix the velcro around the powerbank to make sure it cannot move or fall.

  6. Now insert a charged battery into one of the handsets and start the handset

  7. As soon as it is on, press the menu button (right of the round button in the middle) and then press *47* to start the "Discovery Modus".

  8. A list of the base stations already switched on appears within a radius of 2 meters.

  9. With the navigation button in the middle, you can change to the desired MAC address with the arrows. To select a base on the handset, press the button directly below the word "Select" in the lower left corner.
ATTENTION: It is recommended to activate one station after the other to read the MAC address of the respective base station. Now you can label the last 4 characters of the MAC address on the front of each Snom M900 from the measuring case very large. Make at least one small label with the same MAC address to label the handsets.

  10. Now assign at least one handset to each base station.

  11. Once you have labeled all handsets and base stations, you can begin with the measuring.

  12. The best way to record the measurement process is to use the attached DECT - Measuring List.
