This page describes how to record calls when using the C300 Bluetooth Conference Speakerphone.

Legal restrictions

Please note that recording of telephone calls may be subject to legal restrictions and may be prohibited in your location or require prior consent of the parties to the call.  For more information consult your legal advisor.

Feature overview

You can record calls or media when a USB drive, formatted to exFAT or FAT32, is connected to the USB type A port of the C300.  Recorded audio files cannot be played back on the C300.  For playback, the USB drive must be unplugged from the C300 and plugged into the USB type A port of a PC.  Note: when the battery of the C300 is low, the recording function is disabled.

  • USB storage format:  ExFAT, FAT32
  • Supported USB storage size:  Up to 512 GB
  • Directory:  All recorded media files are stored in the root directory of the USB drive.
  • Media file format
    • Channel:  mono
    • Coding:  PCM
    • Resolution:  16 bit
    • Sampling rate:  16kHz
    • File format:  WAV
    • Encryption:  no
  • File name format:  C3XXnnn.wav, where nnn is a number from 000 to 999, .i.e., filenames from C3XX000.wav to C3XX999.wav
  • Recording time or max file size:  no limit (depends on available storage size)

Using the recording function

Plug the USB drive (not included in the delivery) into the USB type A port on the C300.

Tap the record buttonbriefly to start and terminate the recording.  

Please note: 

  1. When the battery level is low, the recording function is disabled.  
  2. Recorded files cannot be played back on the C300;  unplug the USB drive from the C300 and plug it into the USB port of a PC.

LED indications

The ring LEDs will indicate whether a valid USB storage device is connected and whether calls are being recorded.  They will also indicate whether the call is made via Bluetooth or USB connection and with or without a muted microphone.

  • Purple LEDs.  ON 0.12s OFF 0.12s for 10 cycles, then ON 1s: 
    • A valid USB storage device is detected when the storage device is plugged in.
    • Call recording is terminated.
  • Bluetooth call recording
    • Purple and blue LEDs.  Blue ON 2s, purple ON 0.2s - repeated continuously while recording (blue with flashes of purple).
    • Red and blue LEDs.  Red ON 2s, blue ON 0.2s - repeated continuously while recording with muted microphone (red with flashes of blue).
    • Blue LEDs. Steady ON:  No voice localization during the call.  (For voice localization, a white color LED segment will indicate the direction of the near-end talker.)
  • USB call recording
    • Purple and green LEDs.  Green ON 2s, purple ON 0.2s - repeated continuously while recording (green with flashes of purple).
    • Red and green LEDs.  Red ON 2s, green ON 0.2s - repeated continuously while recording with muted microphone  (red with flashes of green).
    • Green LEDs. Steady ON:  No voice localization during the call.  (For voice localization, a white color LED segment will indicate the direction of the near-end talker.)
