Reset your phone via Phone User Interface

For D3xx/D7xx/D81x phones

  • Get into the settings menu
  • Get to the Maintenance menu
  • Select "Reset values"
  • If that was set, you will then be prompted to enter the Admin Password

For the D86x phones

  • Get into the settings menu
  • Get into the System menu
  • Get into the Advanced menu
  • Select "Factory reset"
  • If that was set, you will then be prompted to enter the Admin Password

Reset your phone via Web user interface

For D3xx/D7xx/D81x phones

You can factory reset the phone by going to the section Advanced → Update and the press Reset button

For the D86x phones

You can open the Info menu on the top right of the Phone Manager page and choose the "Trigger Factory Reset" option

Reset your phone via Rescue Mode

For D3xx/D7xx/D81x phones

Disconnect the phone from the power source, press and hold the hash key # and power up the phone again

Or press **## and hold down the hash key # while the phone reboots

In both cases, you will be able to access the "Rescue Mode" on the display

Here you can choose the Settings Reset option: this resets all settings but not the custom certificates if any was uploaded on the phone, or any customisation that was previously provisioned

If you want to completely reset your phone, you need to use the Recovery Via Network option: that is described in full details at the page Recovery: SPLiT via HTTP

It can be done, following the same steps as in the page above, using any local HTTP server and not just the SPLiT server specified above

For the D86x phones

Disconnect the phone from the power source, press and hold the hash key # and power up the phone again

Or press **## and hold down the hash key # while the phone reboots

In both cases, you will be able to access the "Rescue Mode" on the display

Here you can choose between four options

  • Settings Reset: this resets all settings but not the custom certificates if any was uploaded on the phone, or any customisation that was previously provisioned

  • Wipe overlay partition: This option will reset the phone to factory, including all settings, VPN and customisation, but it will keep the same firmware already installed on the phone

  • Switch active partition: The D8xx series phones actually have two partitions in their memory, one with the current firmware installed and the other with the previous firmware that was on the phone.
Given that, you can choose option 3 to switch between the current and the previous firmware version, keeping all the configuration

  • Firmware update: This can be used to manually upgrade the firmware as the phone will send a standard DHCP discovery to get an IP address, and once it does you can access the firmware update page by using http://phone_IP in a browser.
That will bring you to a firmware update page, in which you can simply drag and drop the FW file to automatically start the upgrade.
In a few minutes the phone will boot back up with the new FW and keeping all the configuration.

Info

Please note, it you choose option 1 "Settings reset" on a D86x phone, the phone will reset and bring you back to the same Rescue Mode menu

The phone won't automatically boot up, in case you want to act on the partitions or upgrade the firmware using other options

You need to press the Cancel key on the phone to exit the Rescue Mode, then the phone will boot up reset of all settings

Reset your Snom phone via remote HTTP command

More about remote HTTP commands is described in this page Remote phone control

You can generally use a command as http://phoneIP/advanced_update.htm?reset=Reset to reset the phone remotely (this works for D3xx/D7xx/D81x phones)
